Questions and answers
Initial consultation
-
It's important to me that you and I share the same basic attitude: that you have a clear goal, are open to learning - and really want to make a difference.
The initial meeting is there to find out whether a collaboration makes sense for both sides and is really effective.
I want to understand where you and your dog currently stand, what you want - and whether my coaching is exactly what will help you move forward.
In this way, we ensure that you don't just book a training course, but start on a path that will bring you and your dog sustainable progress.
-
The initial consultation is about really getting to know you and your dog. We'll look together at where you currently stand, what issues you're dealing with and what you want for your relationship.
You will find out exactly how my training is structured and how I can provide you with targeted support to help you achieve your goal.
In the end, we will find out which coaching suits you best and whether a collaboration makes sense for both sides and is goal-oriented.
The initial consultation is therefore the first step towards real, lasting change.
-
You will have your initial consultation with an experienced and highly trained Marc Welti Hundetraining employee.
She knows our philosophy, our training structure and our values down to the last detail - and will take the time to listen to you, your dog and your individual situation. She will answer all your questions, explain the process to you and remain your personal contact in the future so that you feel well supported and safe throughout the coaching.
-
Marc puts his full focus on the intensive work with his clients - on the coaching sessions, the dogs in training and on the personal support of the teams that are already in the program.
To ensure that all interested parties receive the best possible support, a trained and experienced member of staff will conduct the initial consultation. She is familiar with Marc's philosophy, values and methodology and takes the time to get to know you, your dog and your situation.
In this way, we ensure that you receive competent advice, personal support and optimal preparation for your coaching right from the start.
-
We deliberately take a whole hour for you and your dog so that you can ask all your questions in peace and we can really get to know you.
The interview usually lasts between 25 and 45 minutes - depending on how many topics you bring with you and how much detail we go into.
The important thing is not the duration, but that you end up with a clear picture of what your path with your dog could look like and which coaching suits you best.
Coaching / Training
-
The age of your dog doesn't matter - because the focus of my coaching is on you as the dog owner. The earlier you learn to lead clearly and understand your dog correctly, the easier and more harmonious your journey together will be.
Many customers even start coaching before they get their dog so that they have the necessary knowledge, the right attitude and a clear structure right from the start.
Whether puppy, young dog or adult dog - the right time is always now, when you are ready to make a real change.
-
Yes - training works with any breed of dog, because the decisive factor is not the breed, but the character of the dog.
Every dog has its own personality, energy and history. Coaching teaches you how to respond to this - whether you have a spirited German shepherd, a sensitive retriever or an independent herding dog.
The decisive factor is how you communicate, lead and take responsibility. If you are prepared to work on yourself, this training can be successfully implemented with any breed and any human-dog team.
-
Yes, definitely. Even an older dog can still learn new things - often surprisingly quickly if the communication is clear and the trust is right.
Calmness, orientation and suitability for everyday life can be developed at any age.
It's not the age that matters, but your willingness to break new ground and work consistently on your relationship. Then, even with an older dog, an incredible amount can change - for the better, for both of you.
-
Yes, absolutely - and the sooner the better.
You can start training from day one. This will lay the foundations for a relaxed, trusting and clear life together before undesirable habits become ingrained.
Puppyhood in particular lays the foundation for everything that will come naturally later - from recall to safe behavior in everyday life.
If you set the right direction right from the start, your dog will understand you from the very beginning - and you will grow into a real team.

The physical training sessions usually take place in Zurich, Switzerland. 🇨🇭 However, training sessions or courses can also be booked abroad on request.
My coaching is structured in such a way that you can take part from anywhere in the world. I accompany clients from Switzerland, Germany, Austria, but also from Nepal, New York, Dubai and many other countries.
All programs are designed so that you can train regardless of location and achieve maximum results despite distance.
We use modern techniques, clear structures and personal support to ensure that you are successful even if you cannot always be physically on site.Whether online, on site or combined - the training adapts to your everyday life, your location and your goal.
-
Definitely. I work with clients from all over Switzerland -
from Basel to Valais, from Bern to St. Gallen. My coaching is structured in such a way that you can safely achieve your goals even without regular on-site presence. Thanks to clear structures, targeted tasks and personal exchanges, your progress remains measurable and traceable at all times.
And if the journey to Zurich is still too far for you, I offer pure online coaching or a combination of both - with the same clarity, intensity and effectiveness as in-person training.
-
I don't offer individual lessons - because a single lesson rarely brings real change.
My coaching is always holistic and accompanies you step by step towards a clear goal: a strong relationship and a dog you can really rely on.You can find out everything about my services, content and prices in the free initial consultation.
There we will look together at which coaching is best for you and your dog - and how you can achieve your goal in the long term. -
Because my coaching is not about the price, but about your change.
Every person, every dog and every situation is different - and that's why you don't need a one-size-fits-all solution, but a tailor-made concept that really works. My goal is not to simply sell you a training program, but to help you build a stable, trusting relationship with your dog in which you feel safe and your dog is clearly guided.
That's why we discuss where you currently stand, what you want and what kind of support will help you best in a free initial consultation.
Only then will you receive a specific recommendation - individual, honest and goal-oriented.Because real change does not start with the price, but with the decision to really change something.
-
No - quite the opposite.
The training covers all topics relevant to everyday life: from walking calmly on a leash, to relaxed cruising with other dogs, to topics such as staying alone or not eating from the floor.
Walking off the lead is not an isolated goal, but the natural by-product of clear, trusting and sensible training.
If you learn to lead clearly, take responsibility and really understand your dog, then the lead will follow by itself - or it will become superfluous.
-
No - definitely not. 💪We offer physical training, online coaching and a combination of both.
Depending on the goal and situation, we decide together which form makes the most sense for you and your dog. Many clients combine both - face-to-face meetings on site and accompanying online coaching - to get the best of both worlds.
Thanks to modern technology, clear structures and individual support, I can provide you with maximum support, regardless of whether you are training in front of me or from home.
The goal is always the same: sustainable success and real change - no matter where you are.
-
You basically only need three things for training:
a collar (and, depending on the dog, an additional chest harness)
a short leash
a 10-meter towline
That's all you need at the beginning - because it's not the material that matters, but your clarity, attitude and communication with your dog.
-
Great, that makes me very happy!
The first step is very simple: arrange a free initial consultation. There you will find out everything about the training process and we will see together whether it makes sense for you and your dog to work together.
If everything fits, you can then simply register for the right coaching session via your responsible employee - and we'll start you on your way to a clear, relaxed and reliable dog.
-
You will usually get an appointment very quickly. Most private training sessions can be booked spontaneously - often within a few days.
In urgent cases or emergencies, we try to help you as quickly as possible and usually offer you a suitable appointment within a few days.
This means you can start without long waiting times and work directly on the topics that are important to you.
-
Yes, absolutely.
For special or difficult cases - or if you want the most effective premium solution - you can bring your dog directly to me for training. In this intensive form of training, I work personally with your dog and build up the desired structures step by step so that you can then take over seamlessly and continue successfully in everyday life.
We will discuss all the details and requirements in a free initial consultation, where we will clarify together whether this form of training makes sense for you and your dog.

Boarding kennel
-
Yes, exactly.
The Welti animal shelter in Winkel belongs to Marc Welti Hundetraining.
We founded it because many customers asked for a reliable vacation spot for their dog. In this way, we can ensure that our customers have a high-quality daycare place for their dog even during vacations or working hours.
At Tierheim Welti, we make sure that there is no regression in training and that we work according to the same principles that you know from coaching.
In addition, the dogs there benefit from controlled social contact with other dogs - something that has a positive effect on their behavior and development.
The shelter is run by Lea Welti and her dedicated team, who put their hearts, experience and expertise into looking after the dogs.
