From June 1, 2025, training will be mandatory for all dog owners in the canton of Zurich - with the aim of promoting safety and the harmonious coexistence of humans and dogs. Compulsory dog courses: mandatory since June 2025
Theory course for first-time dog owners: People who are keeping a dog for the first time or after more than ten years must complete a two-hour theory course. This course provides basic knowledge about duties, responsibilities and species-appropriate husbandry and concludes with an exam. If you train with Marc Welti, this theory part is already part of the program - you complete it directly as part of your training.
Practical training course for all dog owners: Regardless of the size or breed of the dog, all dog owners must attend a six-lesson practical course. This course begins at the earliest after the dog has reached the age of six months and must be completed within one year of adoption. This practical part is also fully integrated into Marc Welti's training - you automatically fulfill the legal requirement while working on your human-dog relationship.

Marc Welti Dog Training automatically fulfills the new legal requirements as part of regular training. Both the theoretical and the practical course are fully integrated - without any additional effort, directly in the training. With a focus on sustainable human-dog relationships, understandable communication and a practice-oriented structure, Marc Welti helps you to build a strong bond with your dog and meet the legal requirements at the same time.
